What is NILLA?
the first music-making platform created for preschoolers (ages 3–6).
It blends engaging songs, videos, and games with a simple digital studio app that lets kids record, loop, and arrange their own music—no instruments or reading required. Children learn by playing inside a carefully designed world: the entertainment pulls them in, and the tools guide them step by step into real music-making. NILLA turns any tablet or phone into a playful gateway to creativity, where the kid is both the creator and the spectator. When kids want to relax, there’s plenty to watch; when they’re ready to create, the tools are right there.

Why NILLA?
Access to music: While preschoolers are naturally musical, they don’t yet have the fine motor skills to play instruments—or the literacy to read notes. That doesn’t mean they can’t make music; it means existing solutions aren’t built for them. NILLA is different: it offers tools designed for their developmental stage—simple, intuitive, and playful—giving each child a path to understand and create music.
Peak development: Ages 0–6 is is Peak brain development window. These years are the most fertile for wiring the brain. This is when children are most ready to absorb language, math, and social-emotional skills. Introducing music-making in this window builds pathways that support learning and growth far beyond music itself.
Music as a growth engine: Music-making builds focus and memory, strengthens the foundations of math and language, supports emotional expression, and enhances children’s overall capacity to learn.
Screen time that works: Parents need safe, engaging content that holds kids’ attention without guilt. Most screen time for preschoolers is passive video; NILLA transforms it into active, hands-on creativity. Kids are absorbed and independent, while parents know the time spent is meaningful.
Business opportunity + Ask
NILLA will monetize primarily through subscriptions (mobile/tablet apps and a co-viewing TV app), with secondary revenue from licensing songs, videos, and character IP. Parents in English-speaking markets spend over $16B annually on music education and early-childhood entertainment ($8B in in-person music education, $1B in digital music education, and $4–5B in 0–6 entertainment SVOD/AVOD in 2024). NILLA is designed to capture and expand a share of that space.
The foundation is built—original IP including songs, videos, games, and characters, developed with a clear design philosophy and early-childhood research. The visuals and style are distinctive yet simple, built to support focus and imagination. Early testing with families and children is complete and shows strong engagement. The next steps are to verify product–market fit and launch an MVP in the marketplace.
As an immediate priority, we are looking for a business-focused co-founder
Who is behind NILLA?
Onili (Nili) is a Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter, producer, filmmaker, and educator. A lifelong musician—singing at 6, producing by 11—she grew from bandleader in Paris to an independent pop artist with a catalog of hundreds of songs, dozens of TV/film placements, and the female voice on The Supermen Lovers’ multi-million-selling dance anthem “Starlight.”
She bridges music and tech—self-producing albums and videos, collaborating with startups, and translating modern production into kid-friendly, touch-first workflows. She’s the brain and ears behind NILLA’s core: original songs and characters, a distinctive visual world, and a research-grounded curriculum—giving kids the keys to the studio.
Amandine Senny French artist and designer, contributed her unique craft to NILLA by turning its creative vision into a tangible world. From intricate paper cut-outs—scissors, glue, and studio models—to the colorful and playful design language of the app, her artistry bridges physical craft and digital design, helping bring NILLA to life as engaging, high-quality children’s content.

NILLA’S MISSION
Dedicated to fostering the creative growth of children aged 3-6 through high-quality music and educational content. Our goal is to develop their fundamental skills and equip them with valuable tools for lifelong creativity.
Music is a powerful form of self-expression, and our mission is to give more children the opportunity to learn music-making skills through engaging, entertaining, and contemporary methods.
As we look towards an unpredictable future, we know that creativity will be a critical asset for our children. In an AI-shaped world, digital creativity is core. NILLA teaches the building blocks of modern production—recording, sampling, looping, arranging—so children practice problem-solving, iteration, and agency while learning the “grammar” of digital audio.
